2. What patent data do you have? How up to date is this information?
Traditionally, patent data has not been part of our key focus. As we are an R&D database we have traditionally focussed on development candidates and have not loaded information directly from patents as we found that this did not give a true reflection of what is actively being pursued in terms of development.
When we add patent information, we try to add the earliest patent relating to the specific therapeutic use of a compound/group of compounds.
Previously, we only had one searchable patent per record. This has been expanded so that we can include numerous patents and in version 5.2 we extracted all patent information that was previously listed in the preclinical section of the detailed information and put this into searchable form.
We do not actively seek to add patent data, but will add this if we come across it in press releases etc.
