4. How often is the information updated?
The frequency of updates for individual drugs will vary according to the drug concerned and its stage of development. Some drugs will be updated several times each month, whereas others e.g. drugs in Phase I trials will be updated less frequently as the company does not have information to report.
In terms of the Pharmaprojects database as a whole, this is a good opportunity to talk about our processes. The database is updated daily, but published (made available to customers) on a weekly basis. We capture information as it happens.
We scan press releases on a daily basis, we look at sister publications such as Scrip and Target on a daily basis, check the websites for top-200 companies every month. We attend scientific conferences, we check.
As a ballpark figure we change around 2000 records a month. Obviously this will change during the year e.g. if large mergers or pipeline updates occur or if we have just attended big scientific meetings.
